So You Think You Want to Change the World: Activism, Agency, and the HBCU Legacy of Liberation
July 22, 2025
For generations, HBCUs have been the incubators of movements, the training grounds of change agents, and the spiritual centers of liberation work. But how do we ensure the next generation carries that legacy forward with the knowledge, tools, and critical perspective to make their mark?
This session unveils “So You Think You Want to Change the World,” a groundbreaking online course developed through a powerful collaboration between the SNCC Legacy Project (SLP), UNCF, and LearningMate. Launching in Spring 2026 at select HBCUs, the course equips students with historical grounding, contemporary organizing skills, and personal clarity around their role in shaping a more just world.
Join us for an inside look at the course’s development journey—from legacy to launch. Hear directly from course designers, civil rights veterans, and partners about the power of storytelling, the necessity of activist education, and the profound urgency of preparing HBCU students to lead with purpose and courage in today’s world.
